Adam Peter Rickitt (born May 29, 1978), is a British actor, singer and model.
Born in Cheshire, England, Adam first came to public notice by starring as
the character Nick Tilsley, in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. He
replaced another actor in the role, the character supposedly having been
living in Canada for several years.
After leaving Coronation Street, Adam ventured into a brief pop
career, releasing his album Good Times in 1999. Adam's first hit single I
Breathe Again, reached the number five spot in the UK Top Ten, though Adam
enjoyed several number one hits around the world.
After starring successfully as Mark Cohen in the musical Rent, Adam
returned to Coronation Street, where he courted controversy through a gay
kiss scene.
Adam has modelled several times for the popular UK magazines Attitude and
Cosmopolitan. Adam is particularly famous for having an extremely well-defined
'six-pack'. This, combined with his blond hair and good looks, has led to
the accusation that he is a 'himbo', but this ignores the fact that he
actually turned down an opportunity to study Law at Cambridge University.
