Akshay Kumar (real name Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, born September 9, 1967) is an
Indian actor working in Bollywood.
Kumar worked as a waiter in Bangkok before starting work in films. He
studied martial arts in Hong Kong and is sometimes referred to as the "Bruce
Lee of India". His first Bollywood film was Saugandh. Though most of his
movies are action films, Kumar recently played Amitabh Bachchan's son in
Waqt (2005) which also was his 100th movie. He won the Filmfare Best Villain
Award for his role in Ajnabee.

Kumar was a Bollywood man-about-town for years, dating stars Pooja Batra,
Raveena Tandon, Rekha and Shilpa Shetty. He is now married to Twinkle Khanna,
the daughter of Bollywood actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. Their
first son, Araav Bhatia, was born on September 15, 2002. |
