In 2001, he played the father on the television series Grounded for Life (the
first two and a half seasons were on the Fox network, though the show moved
to The WB for the remainder of its run). In 2002 and 2003, Logue appeared on
the VH1 series I Love the '80s, I Love the '70s, and I Love the '80s Strikes
Back.
Donal Logue has two sisters: Karina, an actress, and his twin sister Deirdre,
who is not in show business.
Donal Logue, who is famous for his role as Jimmy the cab driver on MTV
promos, is nothing like the greasy typical Boston cabby he portrays. Raised
in El Centro, California, he was ASB president at his local high school, and
went on to attend Harvard University. Although he had always considered
himself a writer, his interest in theater was sparked at Harvard. He studied
at the British-American Drama Academy in London, and performed in many plays
before getting his break in "Sneakers". From there he went on to perform in
movies such as "Little Women", "An Eye for an Eye", and "Disclosure." Even
today, Donal enjoys writing almost more than acting. He writes the Jimmy the
cab driver promos. "With acting, you gotta wait until someone gives you a
role in a play or movie", says Donal. "With writing, you're not dependent on
others, you don't have to wait. You can sit down and just create. |
