Faithless Biography

Faithless are a UK group of musicians whose music is described by one of their band as a cross between trip-hop and dance. Their songs include "God is a DJ", "Reverence" (reaching #10 in the UK), "Insomnia" (reaching #3), "Salva Mea" (reaching #9 as a remix), "We Come 1" (also reaching #3) and "One Step Too Far" (featuring Dido, Rollo's sister, reaching #6).

The four original members of Faithless were Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss, Jamie Catto and Rollo. Jamie Catto left after their second album, Sunday 8PM. For No Roots, Faithless were joined by LSK. Rollo also acted as producer for the second half of his sister Dido's debut album, No Angel.

Dido has been a guest singer on a number of Faithless tracks, including "Flowerstand Man" from Reverence, "Hem of his Garment" from Sunday 8PM, "One Step Too Far" from Outrospective and "No Roots" from the album of the same name.

Faithless have released four albums of their own work, called Reverence, Sunday 8PM, Outrospective and No Roots. Each of these albums was also rereleased with a bonus disc of remixes and alternative versions under a different name - Irreverence, Saturday 3AM, Reperspective and Everything Will Be Alright Tomorrow respectively.

A new single was released on June 2004, called "Mass Destruction", and debuted at #7 in the UK. The album No Roots was released on the same month, which debuted at #1, becoming their highest charting album ever, beating Outrospective (#4), Sunday 8PM (#10) and Reverence (#26).

It was reported that Faithless were to split up after their latest tour, which was due to end on 30 April 2005. Speculation started after Rollo wrote "We set out thinking it would be our last album, feeling maybe we have had our time in the sun". However, a fresh clutch of tour dates meant the tour has actually lasted until December 2005. They have currently released a greatest hits compilation, called Forever Faithless - The Greatest Hits, which has also reached #1.
