Felicity Huffman Biography

Felicity Huffman (born December 9, 1962 in Bedford, New York) is an Emmy Award-winning actress.

Huffman's work has included roles in the motion picture Magnolia and the television dramedy Sports Night. She is now best known for her work on the television series Desperate Housewives, where she stars as Lynette Scavo.

During the first season of Housewives, Lynette was a stay-at-home mom who had previously been an advertising executive. Her quirky and comedic sense of humor garnered her the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe nomination in the same category. In the second season she and her husband Tom switch roles after she indirectly causes his firing; she returns to work in advertising whereas he stays at home with their four children: twins Preston and Porter, Parker, and Penny. Huffman is once again nominated for the Golden Globes Best Actress in a Comedy Series award.

In 2005, she starred as a transgendered woman in the film Transamerica. Her performance was praised and she has been nominated for a Best Actress - Drama Golden Globe award for her role. Huffman has also been nominated for 3 SAG Awards in 2005- Best Female Actor in A Motion Picture, Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series, and Best Ensemble for Desperate Housewives.

Private life

She is married to actor William H. Macy, with whom she has two daughters, Sofia Grace and Georgia Grace. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series - Comedy for her work, and she won a Screen Actor's Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series. She won her first Emmy in 2005 for her work on Desperate Housewives edging out fellow cast members Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross.

In 2005, she revealed that she has suffered from both anorexia and bulimia in her teenage years, but was able to overcome those conditions.
