Karen Elson is a leading British model of the era. Initially spotted in the street in her hometown of Bolton, near Manchester in the North of England, it was a chance introduction to Steven Meisel in Milan that began her very singular career. Under Meisel's influence Elson created an incredibly distinctive look - which included the removal of her eyebrows, a severe hair cut, and flaming red hair colour.
