Maura Lynn Tierney Morrissette, born February 3, 1965, is an Irish-American
film and television actress, most recently known for her role as Abby
Lockhart on NBC's drama ER.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and studied drama at New York
University and Circle-in-the-Square Theatre School. She lives in Los Angeles
and New York together with her husband, Billy Morrissette, an actor-turned-director,
and her pug, named Rose Kennedy. Tierney is the daughter of Pat and Joe
Tierney, a prominent former Boston politician.
