Robby Ginepri (born October 7, 1982) is an American tennis player who turned
professional in 2001. Ginepri was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He
currently lives in Marietta, Georgia. He measures approximately 5'11" (1.80
m) and 174 pounds (79 kg). Robby is a graduate of Wheeler High School. His
dad, Rene, is a systems analyst and his mom, Nancy, is a second grade
teacher at Sedalia Park Elementary School. Robby is co-owner of Olde Towne
Athletic Club.

In 2003, Ginepri lost in the third round of the US Open to Todd Martin. In
2004, Ginepri lost in the fourth round of both the Australian Open, in which
he lost to Sébastien Grosjean, and Wimbledon, in which he lost to Lee Hyung-Taik.
In addition, he was a quarterfinalist at the Scottsdale Championships.
In August 2005 he reached the semifinal of a Tennis Masters Series
tournament for the first time in his career, in Cincinnati, USA. He beat
2004 French Open runner-up Mariano Puerta (7-6, 6-1) and David Ferrer (6-4,
6-3) in rounds 1 and 2, 1998 French Open champion Carlos Moya (6-3, 6-4) in
round 3 and two-time grand slam winner Marat Safin (6-2, 6-3) in the
quaterfinal. Although he lost to World No. 1 Roger Federer in the semifinal
(4-6, 7-5, 6-4), he holds a 14-3 summer hard court record.
At the U.S. Open of 2005 he reached the semifinals for the first time ever
at a Grand Slam tournament. In the semifinal match he lost to Andre Agassi
in five sets, making him the first player in US Open history to play four
consecutive five-set matches.
At the Tennis Masters Series tournament in Madrid, Ginepri made it to the
semifinals before losing to Rafael Nadal 7-6, 7-5.
