Samantha Mathis (b. May 12, 1970) is an American actress.
Samantha was born in Brooklyn, New York to Bibi Besch. She stayed with her mother after her parents divorced when Samantha was three years old. This exposed her to the acting world from a young age and thus influenced her career choice. Her first starring role in a feature film was the part of Nora in Pump Up the Volume with Christian Slater who she was dating at the time.
Samantha was with River Phoenix the night that he died. The two of them had dated since they played in The Thing Called Love. Like River had been, she is also a vegetarian. |
