Talia Shire (born April 25, 1946) is an American actress of Italian descent.
Born Talia Rose Coppola in Lake Success, Long Island, New York, she is the sister of director and producer Francis Ford Coppola.
Shire became famous for her roles as the wife of boxer Rocky Balboa in the Rocky movies, and for her role in The Godfather and its sequels. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for The Godfather, Part II and for the Best Actress in a Leading Role for Rocky.

She is the mother of actors Jason and Robert Schwartzman and aunt to actor Nicolas Cage.
Talia Shire is a waif-like actress who first gained attention as Don Corleone's abused daughter in "The Godfather" (1972) and came to prominence as Sylvester Stallone's demure, faithful wife in the "Rocky" series. Sister of director Francis Ford Coppola, formerly married to composer David Shire and currently wed to producer Jack Schwartzman, with whom she co-founded the Taliafilm II production company. Shire made her feature directorial debut with "One Night Stand" (1995), a low-budget thriller, co-executive produced by Roger Corman and her late husband. |
