Tammy Lynn Michaels (born November 26, 1974, in Lafayette, Indiana), was a regular cast member on the television show "Popular" on the Warner Brothers Network and has guest-starred on the Showtime drama, "The L Word". Tammy developed a passion for acting in high school, and after graduating, she moved to New York to pursue it. While working at a restaurant, a talent scout spotted her.
After moving to Los Angeles, she landed the role on Popular within a week. In 2005, she played the character Tess on the NBC series Committed.
Michaels is a well-known lesbian figure, having married popular singer Melissa Etheridge in 2003.
In August 2005 it was announced that she & Etheridge were considering having a child together.
